The Garden

Well this has been an adventurous week. This garden project was actually a Valentine's Gift from Daniel to me. Instead of giving me roses or flowers, he's given me a place to plant and grow some! It began with a trip to Home Depot. When I got home from work, Daniel had already started cutting the wood to the right size. We had decided on four plots to give us lots of space to grow some yummy edible green things. He worked so hard, and I was busy with homework and some of my own projects that he basically completed the project on his own. He purchased about 12 bags of soil from Home Depot. However, after looking at Craigslist, he found someone giving out free Horse Poop! Woo Hoo!!! That meant that about 8 bags went back to Home Depot and some money went back into our pockets. On Saturday, his dad came over and helped for a few hours. Our friend Chris Brinkerhoff (who had lent us the truck to pick up the poop) came over as well with another wheelbarrow. What a guy! About 7:00 pm, Daniel and I finished up the final touches (except for the watering system). He was so excited. After I walked inside, I heard him holler, "Yes! I did it!" He was really proud! And I must say that I am too. Thank you sweetie for an awesome Valentine's Gift. Now we just have to figure out how to keep the dogs from eating and playing in the poop... hmmm.... eewww!!!!

Daniel's Birthday

Well, it's been a while and I have had some trouble with our new camera getting images uploaded. So this post is really late! Daniel's Birthday was in December, and it's already February! For his birthday I tried to have a surprise for him. I wanted to have a nice dinner at home and go out dancing with him with some of our friends - the Andersons.

Then on Saturday, I'd planned a surprise party with friends. Unfortunately - I sent an email to my parents explaining the fun surprises and instead of using my personal email, I used our joint email account. My parents sent something back, Daniel read it and you can probably figure out the rest! He was having such a hard time not telling me that he knew EVERY DETAIL!!! Man that guy is hard to surprise! His brother took him out to see a movie and was supposed to have him back at the house by 7:30. Daniel, however, drug it out and didn't come home until much later. The little stinker. Poor Gabriel didn't know how to get Daniel to leave the mall without giving it away. It was a fun night, though, with lots of friends and family to celebrate the life of a wonderful man! (At least I think so!)

Turkey Anyone?

Well ... I can finally say that I have attempted and succeeded in baking a Turkey. I was a little nervous, but figured that if it didn't work out, I had nothing to worry about since it wasn't for Thanksgiving dinner. But if it turned out decent, I could invite some friends over for a Sunday dinner. Well, it was a little dry, but that's what the gravy is for, right?

Rainbows in Tempe

Daniel went outside one afternoon after it had rained pretty hard here. He discovered some beautiful rainbows and decided to video it to share with everyone.
Enjoy!

Daniel and Tula

Tula is our Bichon and is absolutely adorable. She has the sweetest personality and loves to be around you (or on or next to you!). I tried to capture her curiosity and charming personality with a few pictures of her and Daniel.

p.s. Notice Toby... and his "Toby" eyes
- oh so sad!

Where's Toby

One morning, I kept looking for Toby. Finally, I started searching outside. That's when I saw him... Hiding where he shouldn't be... Super funny.
