Temple Lights

Okay, this is a little late, but I never posted about the Christmas lights at the Mesa Temple!
Every year we make at least one special trip to the Temple to look at the lights and the nativities. This year it was especially cold! (Well, cold for us Arizonans!)

Aww... such a cute couple!
No, these are not our children, as you can tell by the total lack of resemblance. These are two of my favorite nieces! They were visiting from Tucson!
This was on our way home from the lights. Main Street in Mesa has some really fun "Street Art." I think everyone should have a big pink sofa chair like this. Unfortunately, it was not as soft as it looks. (Lilly, Me, LaDawn, Abby)

New couches

So, now that we have the house all to ourselves, we've had to find some new furniture - which has been really exciting! We were looking first to find some couches. We really wanted leather couches, because of our pets. We also wanted them to be a light neutral color. So here's what we found...

We were so excited to find such an amazing deal! I had gone out looking at some couches, but they were all really cheaply made. Then, that same night, Daniel said, "What about these?" We immediately called in the morning, set up an appointment, borrowed my brother's truck and drove out to Happy Valley! The older couple selling them said, "I know it's silly, but I really wanted a nice young couple to buy these. We're so happy it's you!" We were so happy too! What a huge blessing!

Puppies!

I finally found my cord to input fotos! Yeah - so now you all get to see the puppies!

So this is Tula's very pregnant belly - pretty huge, huh?
I spared you all some of the yuckier pictures. This is after she was cleaned up a bit. She looks a little tired and suspicious at the same time.
I loved this shot. Daniel got a picture of Tula and one of her puppies all snuggled up.
Here's one of all the puppies - in a dog pile! The runt is on top. She's about half the size of the others, but quite the fighter.
Here's one of Daniel and two of the puppies. They are so little!

They are so sweet and we can't wait till they open their eyes. They turned 1 week old yesterday! Amazing how time flies. They are already getting so much bigger. I go to work, come home and they seem bigger! Pretty soon we are going to have five very hyper and active puppies running around the house! How fun!

New Puppies!

I know that many of you may be waiting for pictures of the puppies! But I can't find my cable to input the pictures! Agghh!!! So, just keep waiting a little bit. I'll find it. Tula had her puppies on Friday evening. She did really well and I thank my mom and dad for helping out (both Daniel and I had to be at work!).

She had five healthy puppies (the sixth one unfortunately did not make it). She is being an awesome mommy and taking really good care of her little pups!

We love them!

Valentine's Day

I have a very sweet husband, who decided to be extra creative this Valentine's. He was thoroughly proud of himself at the end of the day. To start the day off, he had written on the bathroom mirror a sweet "I love you" message and drew hearts on it.
Next, after church, I came home to find a heart taped on the bathroom door. I thought, "Awe, he put a heart on the door." Smiled and went in the other room. When I passed by again, there was something additional that had been freshly written on the heart, "Open." I smiled and opened the door.

This is what I found - bunches of hearts with cute little messages written on them - each one a little different. But wait, there's more. Or at least he reminded me of that.

After another meeting, we came home and he sent me in the other room. When he was ready, he invited me back in, blindfolded. I thought I was going to get a massage (I am married to a massage therapist, right?) Nope, that would be too obvious. Instead, he had arranged for an "Ice cream for two in the tub." I had to laugh. Who thinks of these things? Only my husband.

It was really sweet and I must say, I've got a pretty fabulous hubby. Love you babe!

The evolution of the Egg

Well, at least the eggs at our house.

First - you start with a chicken. This is one of our lovely laying hens. (You can see another one in the background.)
Then one day, after lots of waiting and anticipation, you will unexpectedly find an egg. At first, you may think your husband is playing a joke, because it looks fake. But you will soon find out that it is very real, just funny looking :)
Suddenly, most of your chickens will be laying eggs, and you'll begin to think, "I never have to buy eggs again."
And then, once all of the chickens are laying, you start to think, "Holy cow, what are we going to do with six eggs a day!?!"
And there you have it, the evolution of the egg, from the Lopes perspective.
